As Gloria Steinem observed, “Whoever has power takes over the noun — and the norm — while the less powerful get an adjective.”1 Since no one wants to be perceived as less powerful, a lot of women reject the gender identification and insist, “I don’t see myself as a woman; I see myself as a novelist/​athlete/​professional/​fill-in-the-blank.” They are right to do so. No one wants her achievements modified. We all just want to be the noun.

Everybody wants power. Power in some form or other. [...] Some people want power to persecute other human beings; you expend your lust for power in persecuting words, twisting them, molding them, torturing them to obey you.

Authority, without any condition and reservation, belongs to the nation.

Anyone who intrigues for power, deserves to get it!

Every religious, business and governmental question has the single derivative: 'Who will exercise the power?' Alliances, combines, complexes, they all chase mirages unless they go for the power. All else is nonsense, as most thinking beings come to realize.

The throne belongs to whoever is able to take it.

It doesn't matter who you are, where you come from. The ability to triumph begins with you - always.
