The morning wind spreads its fresh smell. We must get up and take that in, that wind that lets us live. Breathe before it's gone.

We are but skin about a wind, with muscles clenched against mortality.

Time is running out. Winter is almost upon us. For God's sake, get out there and live.

We are all life trying to live, among other life trying to live.

This is the urgency: Live!
And have your blooming in the noise of the whirlwind.

Today, however, we are having a hard time living because we are so bent on outwitting death.

The wind is a living force. We Taiga call the wind Oni. It enters us all at birth and stays with us all through life. It connects us to every other creature. (p28)

when the fierce, burning winds blow over our lives-and we cannot prevent them-let us, too, accept the inevitable. And then get busy and pick up the pieces.

Thus far we run before the wind.

We need hope, or else we cannot endure.

We are the voices of the wandering wind,
Which moan for rest and rest can never find;
Lo! as the wind is, so is mortal life,
A moan, a sigh, a sob, a storm, a strife.

We can't help it. Life looks for life.

Life is a challenge, we must take it.

God provides the wind, Man must raise the sail.
