Information is not knowledge.

True knowledge is not attained by thinking. It is what you are; it is what you become.

It is vital to remember that information — in the sense of raw data — is not knowledge, that knowledge is not wisdom, and that wisdom is not foresight. But information is the first essential step to all of these.

Knowledge is that which benefits not that which is memorized.

Knowledge about a thing is not the thing itself.

You become what you study.

You become what you understand.

Knowledge is a process, not a product.

Knowledge is not education; it is but the fuel burnt in a flame which comes from the heart of the world and which makes all things new. Burnt in any other way it smoulders and suffocates.

As Buddhist teachers often point out, knowledge, in the sense of prajña, is not knowledge about anything. There is no abstract knower of an experience that is separate from the experience itself.

Knowledge is merely brilliance in organization of ideas and not wisdom. The truly wise person goes beyond knowledge.

Knowledge is knowing that we cannot know.

Life is not a thing of knowing only — nay, mere knowledge has properly no place at all save as it becomes the handmaiden of feeling and emotion.

Information is just bits of data. Knowledge is putting them together. Wisdom is transcending them.
