All of us - we should do everything we can to make sure this country lives up to our children's expectations.

I believe every person, no matter his/her background, culture, or skin colour, has something to offer. We must embrace this to our advantage, and the government has the responsibility to provide ample opportunity for all residents to be included in making our country the best place to live, work, and play.

The deep desire to inspire people, to take an active part in the life of the country … attracts our best people to political life … We should all do something to right the wrongs that we see and not just complain about them. We owe that to our country.

And in my own life, in my own small way, I've tried to give back to this country that has given me so much. That's why I left a job at a law firm for a career in public service, working to empower young people to volunteer in their communities. Because I believe that each of us — no matter what our age or background or walk of life — each of us has something to contribute to the life of this nation.

Each one must do his part if we wish to show that the nation is worthy of its good fortune.

"We have to recognise our cultural differences, but accept that they enrich our society. We also have to accept that all communities and citizens have contributed to the nation. We must understand that our homeland can only reach its full promise if we all continue to contribute, with fair and equitable benefits for all. Finally, we must recognize that for the accomplishment of full nationhood and unity, we have to give greater emphasis to our common interests".

I would say do not ever underestimate the impact that you makein this world. I feel like as young people at times, we underestimate how we’re contributing towards society. But never do so, it could be within a community, within a family, within a country, a continent or globally, but ultimately, we are all contributing, at whichever stage that you are. So, keep that in mind. Always do the best that you can.

But shouldn't all of us on earth give the best we have to others and offer whatever is in our power?

It's true that we mustn't and don't want to be closed to new contributions, but they have to be contributions that enrich our society, not impoverish it.

We need everyone in our society to be contributing towards the rebuilding of Rwanda. Not just 50 percent of society. And we need to include everyone in the opportunities.

Yes, everything for the country, we must love it absolutely and be ready to sacrifice everything for it, down to our most private preferences. And this is a little more difficult than offering one's carcass or fortune. I prize nothing more than that beautiful title: Patriot before all else.

We must continue to make sacrifice for the good of all of us and our country.

We wanted to become part of the people who took responsibility for the country.

We should not be held back from pursuing our full talents, from contributing what we could contribute to the society, because we fit into a certain mould — because we belong to a group that historically has been the object of discrimination.
