There should be no shame in admitting to a mistake; after all, we really are only admitting that we are now wiser than we once were.

It is important to admit your mistakes, and to do so before you are charged with them.

There is a certain degree of satisfaction in having the courage to admit one’s errors. It not only clears the air of guilt and defensiveness, but often helps solve the problem created by the error.

Mistakes are always forgivable, if one has the courage to admit it

Sometimes in life, you will make mistakes. And when you think back on those mistakes, you may feel embarrassed. That's a normal feeling. Nobody is perfect and we all make our fair share of mistakes in life.

However, if you do not take responsibility for the mistake and do your best to correct it, then you are committing a second mistake. Do the right thing, even though you may feel embarrassed by your previous actions. Don't compound the error.

I don’t think that we are a species or a people that can exist without making mistakes somewhere along the line. Some make mistakes that are greater than others. But I do believe that we should have the courage and the ability to look at something that we did, even if in the first instance we believed it, when in the wake of the aftermath and the truth, you find out that that was not the case, to then say, 'Let me go back and examine what led me to this conclusion. What gods was I serving? What masters was I serving? What was it all about?' and then try to be more instructive to people who will listen to you.

It takes guts and humility to admit mistakes. Admitting we're wrong is courage, not weakness.

Why be afraid to make an honest mistake?

To others, being wrong is a source of shame; to me, recognizing my mistakes is a source of pride. Once we realize that imperfect understanding is the human condition, there is no shame in being wrong, only in failing to correct our mistakes.

Everyone makes mistakes, but admit your own before you point out someone else’s.

Don't lie about it. You made a mistake. Admit it and move on. Just don't do it again.
