I pray Thee, O God, that I may be beautiful within.

I think I deserve something beautiful.

I just want to be wonderful.

While gazing at myself from yourself, I was beautiful.

Because you are beautiful. I enjoy looking at beautiful people, and I decided a while ago not to deny myself the simpler pleasures of existence

What do you experience on perceiving yourselves lovely within?

وأَقولُ لنفسي : سيطلع
من عَتْمتي قَمَرُ...

Those who strive on the path of God become beautiful. Those who face difficulties on the path of God become beautiful. Those who do not face any difficulties become ugly, their meaning would be lost, they would become dull and blunt. I mean they would become coarse.

I want to reconcile myself with heaven, I want to love, I want to pray, I want to believe in good.

But how are you to see into a virtuous Soul and know its loveliness? Withdraw into yourself and look. And if you do not find yourself beautiful yet, act as does the creator of a statue that is to be made beautiful: he cuts away here, he smoothes there, he makes this line lighter, this other purer, until a lovely face has grown upon his work. So do you also: cut away all that is excessive, straighten all that is crooked, bring light to all that is overcast, labour to make all one glow of beauty and never cease chiselling your statue, until there shall shine out on you from it the godlike splendour of virtue, until you shall see the perfect goodness surely established in the stainless shrine.

I went in search of myself.

Do not see yourself as a body of clay, see yourself as a mirror reflecting the divine beauty.

Inner beauty will always replenish the outward looks. Be at peace with yourself and with the universe. Be positive. Let your God-self come through. Let go and let God
