I don't make mistakes. I make predictions which immediately turn out to be wrong.

To risk making predictions is rather presumptuous and unwise. If I’m wrong, it will never be forgotten. If I’m right, no one will remember.

There is no possibility I have made a mistake. Everything that happens as a result of my actions is one of calculation and certainty. Everything happening is exactly what I predicted.

I wasn’t wrong. I am just far more correct now than I was then.

Often I’ve stated how I hate to be wrong. That has aborted many a tempting error, but not all of them. But I hate much more to stay wrong. Early on, I’ve learned to check back on earlier proclamations. One can learn much from one’s own errors and precious little from one’s triumphs. By September of 1945, it was becoming obvious that oversaving was not going to cause a deep and lasting post-war recession. So then and there, I cut my losses on that bad earlier estimate.

I'm not always right, but I'm never in doubt.

I really don't think anything I do is a mistake. It could be if I didn't learn from it.
