What an honor it is to be here in Ghana and on the continent of Africa.

I am the hero of Africa.

My title is mostly symbolic, I'm not like these rich kings of Europe, but I represent the Afro-Bolivian community, and this is a huge responsibility to me.

Being the Afro-Bolivian king – their first among equals – means a lot; I am realising that now. It is a position of utmost responsibility. I will do it proudly, as long as my people support me, as long as we will walk together, because I am not that much of a political animal anyway. But working for the "Afros" will be a difficult task, and I will be dealing with very delicate situations.

I went to the East African Community on assignment. This is my constituency, there is no better time or candidate to represent this constituency than myself.

This is a real-life example of what it means to represent African excellence and a true testament to the fact that impossible is nothing. This milestone is truly a blessing.

To be recognized for my work and be presented with an Award by Her Majesty The Queen at Buckingham Palace is such a huge honour.

I've had quite a number of career highlights for which I feel truly blessed that my hard work has met with success. I'm so proud of my African heritage and always have a sense of fulfillment when I'm given the opportunity to serve.

I believe I deserve to win the title as I embody resilience, strength and the ubuntu spirit within South Africa. As a deaf woman with a cochlear implant, I represent a community that often goes unheard.

I feel extremely fortunate to be recognised by many organisations from different parts of the world.

I’ve always been very proud to be a South African and I’ve always been very honest to people about that. And whatever I can do in my power, I promise you, I will do. I don’t think it’s too much pressure. I think it’s our duty as citizens of this country. You don’t have to win an Oscar to do something good for your country. We all can do that. If I can be an encouragement for that I’ll be glad to be that.

This achievement reaffirms that my dedication to addressing the urgent cancer challenges in the African region is both recognised and valued.

This is not only a special thing for me but also for my country and all African women.

I am an African. I am white. I, in my humble way, and others in their much more brave way, have earned that right.
