You do not have to be privileged to find your place in the world.

Believe in yourself. You don't even need to get noticed nowadays by starting on major platforms.

The BEST way to get famous is make amazing stuff. That’s it.

I don't know if the average person would like [being famous]. I really like it. I think it might surprise them that the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. I think most people think of it as a problem, but it's all in how you look at it. But I do think that's the case, you get a lot more than it costs you in privacy invasion or whatever.

Yes, I'm beautiful … I am beautiful and famous — and yet the things I like about myself have nothing to do with that, because I don't use wealth and beauty to define myself. People think I'm more beautiful than I am because they see me on magazine covers — but go to nearly any town, and you'd find prettier women. And though I'm well known now, I might not be famous one day —but I'd still be happy. I do have money, but I could be richer. I just don't want to pay the price some are willing to pay to have more money. I live in a small house. I'm not the glamour girl who wears makeup every day. I live a wonderful life, and I lack for nothing. Maybe that does make it easier for me to say, "Be who you are" — but I always tell people they shouldn't be too impressed with wealth and fame. They shouldn't worship it. I am in this machine, but I haven't completely given my soul to it.

You want to be rich and anonymous, not poor and famous.

You can't get un-famous. You can get infamous, but you can't get un-famous.

I want to be famous but unknown!

Fame is a by-product. Fame is something that should happen because you do work that speaks to people and people want to know about your work. Unfortunately the personality of people has taken over from the work and the artistry and it's this thing now that stands on its own. I don't think one should ever aspire to being famous.

You don't have to have blue eyes and blond hair to be beautiful.

As for fame, fame felt like nothing. Fame was not a sensation like love or hunger or loneliness, welling from within and invisible to the outside eye. It was rather entirely external, coming from the minds of others. It existed in the way people looked at him or behaved towards him. In that, being famous was no different from being gay, or Jewish, or from a visible minority: you are who you are, and then people project onto you some notion they have.

I have no problem being fabulous. But being famous, you know, is a double-edged sword. It is a by-product of what we do. I never set out to be famous when I started out on this journey. I just wanted to be the best actress that I could be. It is always a struggle trying to deal with it and balance it. It was quite overwhelming at that time when you have a lot of people saying all sorts of negative thing

You do not need to have an extraordinary life to make extraordinary work.

You have to become famous before you can secure the attention which would give fame.
