Major life changes—moving to a new city, starting a new job, ending a relationship, getting married, having kids, etc.—will often make life harder for the first 100 days before improving.

This is not always true, but it's a nice reminder that experiencing early struggle doesn't mean it was a bad choice.

Being pleasant, reliable, and easy to work with might cost you a little more time. Perhaps even a bit of extra money. But the long-term returns from a great reputation usually outweigh the cost of a single transaction.

You can be authentic and hardworking and still struggle to find your footing if you're in the wrong environment.
