Fame is a bitch, man.

The measure of fame that I have is kind of like micro fame, relative to a certain kind of community of people. It’s awful. It’s horrible. I wouldn’t wish fame on my worst enemy.

I’ve been famous before. It’s not so great.

I am only after people who hurt my reputation. They have talked bad about me already. They believe I am bad, so, I am showing them how bad I can be. Other people are involved, in fact, plenty. I have revealed a bit but the rest they can read in my book.

Fame is something that gets to you after some time.

You can't get un-famous. You can get infamous, but you can't get un-famous.

Fame has taken away my privacy. Fame has also taken away my peace of mind because people judge celebrities for diverse reasons. They have expectations which one can sometimes fall short of. Before I do anything, I think about it a lot because I don’t know how people will misinterpret it. Some people won’t just let you be. You can’t go out without makeup; you can’t go to events without looking fly (good), and it doesn’t matter if you have the funds for it or not. Before you do anything, you have to think about it because your life no longer belongs to you.

I used to be scared of fame.

I hope I'm not getting so famous that I can't think out load [sic] anymore.

Fame is almost a poison. I couldn’t care less, in fact I lived better when I was a nobody.

I don't like fame, I prefer to have no profile. But this is not possible for me. This is what I do, so I just have to find a way of being comfortable with it.

What really fucks me up in the head is that basically I'm supposed to be endorsing this sort of pop star, 'Wow, lucky bastard, he's got it all' existence. What frightens me is the idea that what Radiohead does is basically packaged back to people in the form of entertainment, to play in their car stereos on their way to work.

I think the worst thing that can happen to a good actor is fame. The limelight is a tricky place, because you can't believe what's going on around you. You stop observing. You stop perceiving. You stop extending yourself, and you become isolated. Our duty as actors is to remain compassionate and curious. Fame complicates all that.
