Rafael Vicente Correa Delgado (born 6 April 1963) is an economist and former president pro tempore of the Union of South American Nations. He became President of the Republic of Ecuador in 2007, holding that position until 2017. He was previously the leader of Alianza PAIS, which called for "change of the productive matrix and the capitalist accumulation regime." He is currently the leader of the anticapitalist Citizen Revolution Movement.
