One of the things that have happened over the last decade or so with social media is that it has democratized storytelling, because we used to have one medium i.e. the press, but now anyone can tell a story.

I think it's necessary. The world creates things up out of prayers that people pray and have. Things begin to move accordingly to how we all collectively think. When you see collectives moving on something you know that there's going to be some kind of mass migration to a higher place, and I see that in the world as a whole, not just in America. I see it all over the globe. People are organizing and fusing together to make change, and it's inspiring. I think it's part of the natural order of things. We're evolving, and what helps us evolve is social media. Social media is social evolution. It's sparking a great change.

Visual artists tend to like Tumblr, Instagram, or Facebook.

How lasting the impact of social media will have is yet to be determined, but one thing for sure, it has turned the chain of influence upside down. Today the reader, the lowly reader, that presumably passive consumer of all the great insight handed down by the reporter, confirmed by the analyst, attested to by the reference customer—this reader, I say, has now become the writer! Except it is not a reader/writer. It is reader/writers at large, many readers, the wisdom (or madness) of crowds. We have embarked upon the world's largest and longest cocktail party, and every issue imaginable is up for grabs.

Social media makes photography available to the world so quickly that immediacy has become more important than quality. Not many people appreciate the quality that comes with experience and most are happy with seeing something now. Consumption makes it all come and go very fast, so there’s no need to elevate things.

We've gone from looking up at the moon to looking down at Instagram.

I do like social medias because of the instant feedback and interaction. I try to keep fans up to date with what I’m doing and try to show them who I am and what I’m passionate about. I also follow a lot of artists myself because I like learning more about the people I respect.

Social media is a very important tool too, we can’t underestimate the age of information. Anyone who fears social media, fears the freedom knowledge brings.

Art is, nowadays, our new religion and museums are our cathedrals

It is a realization that what happens is the young become more connected to God given social media. What happens is they are touched by whatever happens and they want to promote it to others.

... Museums are managers of consciousness. They give us an interpretation of history, of how to view the world and locate ourselves in it. They are, if you want to put it in positive terms, great educational institutions. If you want to put it in negative terms, they are propaganda machines. They're both. This is something usually not acknowledged and there's probably a good reason why: because if this were in one's consciousness, then one would be a bit more immune to brainwashing — assuming brainwashing is the intent.
