Nigerian women are hardworking and self-motivated, they create opportunities for themselves and also take opportunities as they come. Our women have always managed to triumph over challenges and cultural disadvantages. Nigerian women have excelled both in the public and private sectors. All we need is the enabling environment to excel in our chosen fields.

For a country that needs help, women are key to the success of Nigeria.

Yet sustainable economic and social development can only be achieved with the full participation and leadership of women on the African continent. In order to overturn centuries of underdevelopment, women need to position themselves at the centre of development processes.

The people that inspire me the most are Nigerien women. They are so keen to make the lives of the future generation better.

Nigerian women rock! The can-do spirit and general tenacity in the face of adversity is something to be admired. From the market woman selling her wares to the women at the height of their careers, I am full of admiration of how Nigerian women manage to make things happen, sometimes with very little.

The Nigerian woman is smart, beautiful, fashionable, driven, purposeful and has the capacity to take on the world without fear, that is not a tool you leave at home when you are building leadership

Before talking about women's entrepreneurship, I would first like to recall that the National Women's Day of Niger is the result of the struggle of Nigerien women who felt marginalized during the preparations for the 1991 National Sovereign Conference of the Nation's Vital Forces. This movement, in itself, shows the extent to which women were absent from decision-making spheres. And as the saying goes, "only struggle pays off." Today, things are moving because Nigerien women are present wherever duty calls citizens. And this on all issues affecting the socio-economic and political development of our country. We can say that the 1991 movement liberated women, unleashed their energy at all levels, whether political or economic.

Therefore, I appeal to my Nigerian sisters: let us assume our role as mothers, wives, and above all, responsible citizens through proactive attitudes geared toward the bright future of our country. Let us not accept the role of mere spectators of policies or programs that affect our own future and that of our children.

My advice to Nigerian women is not to lose their dignity as women in order to succeed in life. Hard work brings success. They should not depend on men for everything but work hard to get their own.

"We need to change the way we bring up women; otherwise Nigeria will not grow; when you educate a woman, you educate a nation".

Nigerian women have worked their ways to the top in various sectors. Women are now major players in business, politics, the academics and just about any area endeavor. We may not have reached our goal of having 35 representation in government, but women have broken the glass ceiling in the public and private sector. We have a large pool of female entrepreneurs, academicians, sports stars, investors and leaders, who are contributing to the development of the country. Today, you can say we have a lot to show for years of advocacy for gender equality, judging by the success millions of women have recorded in their chosen fields”,

We would be able to add something that would add value to their lives, so we need to have serious programmes that would really empower women in Nigeria, most especially in the north.

We women leaders must rise up to the task of reshaping our country by providing our intuitive ideas to support the developmental ideals of Nigeria.

At this juncture, I call on women of Nigeria to support Mrs. Tinubu in the office she is today. She has shown that she can help the women of Nigeria, can support the children of Nigeria. And together we will be strong, one day, we will find amongst us, one of us that can be the leader of this country.
