American musician, frontman of mewithoutYou
Aaron Weiss is the lead vocalist and lyricist for Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based band mewithoutYou. The band's music is generally dominated by Weiss' dramatic spoken-word vocals and singing as well as free-ranging drums, bass, and guitar. Despite often being mistaken for a Christian, Weiss was raised in a Sufi Muslim household, after his parents converted from Judeism. When asked, he states having a non evangelical, personal relationship with God. Weiss took much inspiration for his lyrics from poets like Rumi and has several direct quotes from Rumi and other poets in his lyrics.
