Siddhārtha Gautama (Sanskrit/Devanagari: सिद्धार्थ गौतम Siddhārtha Gautama, c. 563/624 – c. 483/544 BCE) or Siddhattha Gotama in Pali,; also called the Gautama Buddha, the Shakyamuni Buddha ("Buddha, Sage of the Shakyas") or simply the Buddha, after the title of Buddha, was a monk (śramaṇa), mendicant, sage, philosopher, teacher and religious leader on whose teachings Buddhism was founded. He is believed to have lived and taught mostly in the northeastern part of ancient India sometime between the 6th and 4th centuries BCE.

Magadha földjén ezelőtt a tiszta Tant
gyarló személyek tanították tévesen.
Halhatatlanság kapuját te tárd ki most!
Hallják világosan a tiszta, szent igét!

Ki hegytetőre, fel a sziklabércre jut,
fentről körülnéz az alanti tájakon.
Te mindent-látó, te is így tekints alá
az igazság várfokáról a szenvedő,
szakadatlanul születő-kiszenvedő
lényekre, mert te legyőzted a szenvedést.

Kelj fel, te nagy csata vitézi győztese!
Járd a világot, seregek vezére!
Tanítsd a Tant, magasztos Szent!
Lesznek, akik megértenek.

All Beings are owners of their Karma. Whatever volitional actions they do, good or evil, of those they shall become the heir.

To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one's family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one's own mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him.

Who have not led the holy life
nor riches won while young,
they linger on as aged cranes
around a fished-out pond.

Be a lamp unto yourself, be a refuge to yourself. Take yourself to no external refuge.

All that we are arises with our thoughts.
With our thoughts we make the world.
Speak or act with an impure mind
And trouble will follow you
As the wheel follows the ox that draws the cart.

And happiness will follow you
As your shadow, unshakable.

Life is pain

Those who are free of resentful thoughts surely find peace.

Happiness never decreases by being shared

Rather than continuing to seek the truth, simply let go of your views.

Who leaves behind all human bonds
And has cast off the bonds of heaven,
Detached from all bonds everywhere:
He is the one I call a brahmin.

Anger will never disappear so long as thoughts of resentment are cherished in the mind. Anger will disappear just as soon as thoughts of resentment are forgotten.
