To go north, you must go south. To reach the west, you must go east. To go forward, you must go back. To touch the light, you must pass beneath the shadow.

East, West, South or North makes little difference. No matter what your destination, just be sure to make every journey, a journey within. If you travel within, you’ll travel the whole wide world and beyond.

To return to the source of things, one has to travel in the opposite direction.

Wherever you go, east, west, north or south, think of it as a journey into yourself! The one who travels into itself travels the world.

In order to arrive at what you are not, you must go through the way in which you are not.

To come to the knowledge you have not
you must go by a way in which you know not.

You learn by going where you have to go.

I had to go to the store, I had decided, to bring back some apples — and I went past the store that sold apples and I kept driving, and driving. I was going south, and west, because if I went north or east I would run out of world too soon.

Yet to get to your destination, whatever it may be, it is necessary to go to the end.

To get somewhere, you have to start moving.

"To Know the Dark"

To go in the dark with a light is to know the light.
To know the dark, go dark. Go without sight,
and find that the dark, too, blooms and sings,
and is traveled by dark feet and dark wings.

Each of us must make his own voyage through darkness and danger to the light that beacons in the distance.

Which way you ought to go depends on where you want to get to...
