I decided to speak out about my own experience of abuse for the sake of children. "I didn’t want my daughters to grow up witnessing what men are capable of, and I didn’t want my sons to believe that it’s acceptable for men to treat women that way."

I don’t want the next generation to fight the same fight as I did.

I didn’t have that stability of ‘this is what my mum wants, this is what my dad wants, this is how we are raised,’ and I don’t want my child to go through that.

I don't want my past to become anyone else's future.

I don’t make my kids say I’m their favorite star.

I’m not raising any kids to be radioactive dust.

We didn't want our new generation and future generations to ever to go through what we have been through. We want to be Rwandans.

My children know that life has not been kind to me

I would rather have my children die, than live in disgrace, jeered at. My children stand no chance in Germany after the war.

I'd hate to have a kid like me.

I don't want any gay people hanging around me while I'm killing kids. I just don't want to see it.

I do not want my children to become people who abandon themselves to please the crowd.

Growing up with only my mother really affected my life and I suffered and I do not ever want my children to face the agony of not having both parents together because it was so hard for us. Even right now, the way the world is, children are more enlightened than we were in our days, so the pressure would be harder on the kids from broken homes right now. I do not want my children to ever experience that.

I don't want to have to tell them that my life lost all its meaning when they died. They loved me, and they wouldn't want that.
