It is with the soul that we grasp the essence of another person, not with the mind, not even with the heart.

It is not that we have a soul, but that we are a soul.

I am using the term 'soul' quite deliberately so as not to be misunderstood. If you put your question like that, I would say yes. ... the word 'soul' refers to the central order, to the inner core of a being whose outer manifestations may be highly diverse and pass our understanding.

Soul receives from soul that knowledge, therefore not by book nor from tongue. If knowledge of mysteries come after emptiness of mind, that is illumination of heart.

By definition, soul evades the cage of definition. It is the indefinable essence of a person's spirit and being. It can never be touched and yet the merest hint of its absence causes immediate distress.

Body and soul. Two different things

We may treat of the Soul as in the body — whether it be set above it or actually within it — since the association of the two constitutes the one thing called the living organism, the Animate. Now from this relation, from the Soul using the body as an instrument, it does not follow that the Soul must share the body's experiences: a man does not himself feel all the experiences of the tools with which he is working.

If she were religious, she would call it the soul.
