Remember, you’re growing a person, not fixing a problem.

The trick is to help others without believing yourself to be, or acting like you are, their savior.

I think I have learned that the best way to lift one's self up is to help someone else.

Be an Encourager: When you encourage others, you boost their self-esteem, enhance their self-confidence, make them work harder, lift their spirits and make them successful in their endeavors. Encouragement goes straight to the heart and is always available. Be an encourager. Always.

Give encouragement (the incentive to action) — you will have courage and be encouraged.

Commend, Don’t Criticize

You can really change someone’s life for the better simply by offering words of encouragement.

Give assistance, not advice, in a crisis.

Think about effort as a positive constructive force, not as a big drag.

The way to change others' minds is with affection, and not anger.

If someone stinks, view it as a reason to help them, not a reason to avoid them.

Helping others helps you get over yourself and your own problems.
