If you already live a comfortable life, then choosing to make more money but live a worse daily life is a bad trade.

And yet, we talk ourselves into it all the time. We take promotions that pay more, but swallow our free time. We already have a successful business, but we break ourselves trying to make it even more successful.

Too much focus on wealth, not enough focus on lifestyle.

ON WHAT IS MOST SURPRISING ABOUT HUMANITY

Many people have a lot of money but not much lifestyle. They spend their lives watching numbers accumulate in a bank account and miss out on the joy and enjoyment they can create and share along the way.

We all know people who have great ideas about how to make millions of dollars, but are too lazy to get off the couch. We all know people who live in the future, and fail to take action today. There are millions of people who want to change the world, but cannot change the conditions of their own lives. And we all know people who lie, cheat, and steal, and yet lie again to themselves, believing they are people of integrity.

Most people are investing their whole lifetime just for their material well-being. Dying to live, this is called.

Often, many of those who have earned millions of dollars haven’t developed a plan to sustain their lifestyle without having to work at least some of the time.

Today, large numbers of people live deeply unfulfilled lives, dedicated only to "earning a living"... Through no fault of their own they remain passive on-lookers of a life which passes them by... On all sides today can be seen bafflement, confusion and anger... Freed by machines from the burden of unnecessary work, millions will find within themselves a creativity absent up till now, and will contribute their share to the glowing tapestry of joyful living which will become the hallmark of the new age.

There are two ways to live, he decided. You can be rich, or you can deliberately refuse to be rich. You can possess money, or you can despise money; the one fatal thing is to worship money and fail to get it.

If they are living a fake life, they are living it for a reason, and the reason is so that they can get more jobs. Whether you like it or not, people don’t associate with broke people, so you need to fake it to make it. Fake life is expensive on its own.
