Misogynists have often reproached intellectual women for 'letting themselves go'; but they also preach to them: if you want to be our equals, stop wearing makeup and polishing your nails. This advice is absurd. Precisely because the idea of femininity is artificially defined by customs and fashion, it is imposed on every woman from the outside[...]. The individual is not free to shape the idea of femininity at will.

If we want to be free, the women of the 21st century need to stop playing the game. We need to end our wary efforts to believe that our bodies are acceptable and begin to know, with a clear and billiant certainty, that our persons are powerful.

The idealized woman becomes property, symbol, and ornament; she is stripped of her essential human qualities. The devalued woman becomes a different kind of object; she is the spittoon in which men release their negative anti-woman feelings.

We feminists think that women deserve the right NOT to prostitute.

In other words...you can't be a misogynist and expect women to appreciate you.

Community members should change the mindset that women are incapable and instead recognize their contributions as equal to those of boys and men.

We need to liberate women and create safe spaces that offer them economic freedom and independence because had it not been for women, many homes would have collapsed. They’re strong mentally and very strategic thinkers who raise children single-handedly

Women’s bodies are used as battlefields—and this must end.

No woman has to be respectable to be valuable.
