It happened fast. Thirty-two minutes for one world to die, another to be born.

Yes I did when I was at university 30 years ago, just for a short time.

For those of you with whom I do not share the same opinion and perhaps that is many I will take only 30 minutes of your time. And perhaps at least we can part company having known we at least visited for 30 minutes.

If I ever thought of myself as a man of thirty-five it was a visualization of dreary decrepitude.

You think you know what your life will be like thirty years from now and suddenly you’re doing something you couldn’t have planned five minutes ago.

For a brief time I was here; and for a brief time I mattered.

You were transparent a minute ago!

I’m twenty-three and I sound like I’m fifty-five.

I want to see results; I have few minutes to waste.

You want to really do well? Then stretch your thirty minutes to a full hour. But at least spend thirty minutes. Oh yes, here’s one more thing: Don’t miss. Miss a meal, but not your thirty minutes of learning. All of us can afford to miss a few meals, but none of us can afford to lose out on ideas, examples, and inspiration.

Remember what it was like on Christmas when you woke up before your parents, and had to sit there until they were ready, knowing that just a few rooms away there was something awesome waiting for you? For the next thirty minutes, I felt that way, while I waited for them to call me back up to the set.

So, um... I've been working on this special now for six months. And the whole time I've had a... a goal in mind, which is I wanted to finish this thing before I turned 30. Um, because the idea of turning 30, while still in this fucking room, working on this thing alone, um, that just seemed... I just... I just wanted to avoid that. And you might be thinking, "Well, that's fine. You know, look at you, You radiate such youth, You must not be turning 30 for years." And that's very, uh, nice of you to say. But the truth is um, I turn 30 in less than a minute. So I'm just gonna sit here and enjoy my twenties, and then get back to work. Yay.
