Let’s return now to the dust as the dust we are

You are human; you will become dust; as many days as you have lived, you are so much nearer to your grave.

Fear no more the heat o' the sun,
Nor the furious winter's rages;
Thou thy worldly task hast done,
Home art gone, and ta'en thy wages;
Golden lads and girls all must,
As chimney-sweepers, come to dust.

No exorciser harm thee!

I have never liked the phrase that says we’re just made of dust and return to dust. We are energy, which is interchangeable with light. We are fire and water and earth. We are air and atoms and quarks. Moreover, we are dreams, hopes, and fears held together by wisdom and driven apart by folly. So much more than dust. The biblical verse should say, “Miracle thou art and to Mystery returneth.

Dust to dust, ashes to ashes. Is that all?

One day I attempted to reach silence directly, with greater resignation, surrendering to the fate that governs any profound struggle. How loved, how honored once, avails thee not, To whom related, or by whom begot; A heap of dust alone remains of thee; 'Tis all thou art, and all the proud shall be!

You think of yourself
as a citizen of the universe.
You think you belong
to this world of dust and matter.
Out of this dust
you have created a personal image,
and have forgotten
about the essence of your true origin

This, think'st thou Dust intomb'd, or Ghosts regard?

That flesh is but the glass, which holds the dust
That measures all our time; which also shall
Be crumbled into dust.

I commend thy soul to God, and thy body to the ground, earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust, in sure and certain hope of the Resurrection.

Dreams turn to dust in light of day.

And now, it's time to leave and turn to dust

We are but dust and shadow.
