I like people in the abstract but not in the concrete?

I try to make concrete that which is abstract.

I am a theorist, but I detest the introduction of abstract principles into the great practical difficulties of this nation.

The abstract kills, the concrete saves.

I'm not into this detail stuff. I'm more concepty.

One shouldn't learn more than what one absolutely needs against life.

I'm strictly reality oriented. I don't indulge in make-believe. I don't wish to be where I'm not.

It is better to remember the obvious than to grasp the esoteric.

Abstract terms (however useful they may be in argument) should be discarded in meditation, and the mind should be fixed on the particular and the concrete, that is, on the things themselves.

I would rather do nothing than do a rough sketch without having looked at anything. My memories will do better.

I don't want to go to school and learn solemn things.

I like boring things.

We favor the visible, the embedded, the personal, the narrated, and the tangible; we scorn the abstract.
