How averse human beings were ever to admit ignorance!

The average human being has an inherent dislike of work and will avoid it if he can.

Well, we don't know a lot, and most people don't want to learn more’n what's right before their eyes. You point out things that don’t fit into what they've always accepted, and they say it’s all your imagination and nothing like that is real.

Most people are not intellectuals — a fact that intellectuals have terrible trouble coming to terms with.

Most people know nothing about learning; many despise it. Dummies reject as too hard whatever is not dumb.

Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those who know little, not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by science.

Fools hate knowledge

Ignorance is not a simple lack of knowledge but an active aversion to knowledge, the refusal to know, issuing from cowardice, pride or laziness of mind.

I would far rather be ignorant than knowledgeable of evil.
