Sanity is not truth. Sanity is conformity to what is socially expected. Truth is sometimes in conformity, sometimes not.

Sanity - a trick of agreement

Sanity is not statistical.

Sanity itself is a kind of convention.

Sanity is viewed as a matter of getting these fluid portions of the self to play well together, without letting them become rigid or too well defined. In human beings, this is best achieved through interaction with other minds — other people — beyond the self. Without the push-back of external beings — outside communities and objective events — the subjective self can get lost in solipsism or fractured delusion.

Sanity is, in essence, nothing more than the ability to live in harmony with nature's laws.

When people talk about 'the sanctity of the individual' they mean 'the sanctity of the statistical norm'.

Sanity is a madness put to good uses.

It gets tricky here, but it’s always seemed to be that sanity is, or can be, as relative as anything else. Sacrifice an animal to Zeus and predict the future from the formation of its entrails—do that as a general in ancient Greece hoping for victory in a coming battle and you’re prudent. Do it today and you’re a clinical paranoid and a mean one, too. Sanity, like customs and manners, seems to have a strong basis in the accepted standards of a particular time and place.

In a rather simple way. It merely required the use of that much–neglected commodity – common sense.

Sanity is a valuable possession.

One of the things I learned, one of the strangest things, is how to think.

Statistics were magic like this: they could tell you with near-certainty that a thing would occur, without a hint of when or where.
