Some people think I have it figured out

I don’t. Quite uncertain about this path the next few years. Not sure if things will work.

But I will just keep trying stuff and seeing where it takes me.

The big shift I have made is not seeing uncertainty as a problem to be solved.

Generally I’ve seen that finding a satisfying life path is easier if you quit your job before you are “financially independent” whatever that means to you.

Post exit founders often struggle the most because they can’t just turn it “on” again. Their skills is doing a whole years long pursuit. So there is more resistance to running that back. But for the most part they do just end up running it back. The happiest tend to be the ones that don’t do it to run away from the inner feelings that crop up post exit

The problem with making lots of money is that people tend to overindex on using the skill of making money as a way to spend one’s time.

Doing new things not only means less money but being bad at something.

if you follow the habits of successful people you will simply have acquired additional habits and tasks to do

I suspect that almost everyone must find their own unique way for their own quirky psychology

this is like the only lesson you need to know from self-help

Retiring early is silly. No amount of money will save you.

Retire from bad work as fast as possible to do stuff you care about. Create. Parent. Play. Travel. Learn. Build.

More people should listen to FIRE people. But mostly the ones that already retired and figured this out
