No diets. I try to make healthy choices and work out when I can.

It’s not me that’s obsessed with my weight, it’s everyone else. I know that I’m healthy, so I don’t really feel the need to answer to anyone. I’ve never substituted a meal for a salad in my life.

I don't have a diet, I've never been someone who eats badly or likes unsporting things. With my fitness trainer we're looking after this part a little bit, but not too specifically. I try to vary a lot and eat things that make me feel good. Clearly, before the match it wouldn't make sense to gain weight.

Millions of dollars are spent on diets.

Very few dollars on information diets.

• Sugar leads to diabetes of the body.
• The internet leads to diabetes of the brain.
• Glucose monitors help manage our food diet.

We need something similar to monitor our information diet.

PRINCIPLE 5: IGNORE DIET PHILOSOPHIES AND FOCUS ON UNPROCESSED FOOD Diet controversy is a charade.

What some call health, if purchased by perpetual anxiety about diet, isn't much better than tedious disease.

Yes, a bunch of carrots, observed directly, painted simply in the personal way one sees it, worth more than the Ecole's everlasting slices of buttered bread, that tobacco-juice painting, slavishly done by the book? The day is coming when a single original carrot will give birth to a revolution.

Crash diets don't work.

They don't work for losing weight, they don't work for making sales quota and they don't work for getting and keeping a job.

The reason they don't work has nothing to do with what's on the list of things to be done (or consumed). No, the reason they don't work is that they don't change habits, and habits are where our lives and careers and bodies are made.

[on vegetarianism] I didn't climb to the top of the fuckin' food chain to eat carrots.

If you have formed the habit of checking on every new diet that comes along, you will find that, mercifully, they all blur together, leaving you with only one definite piece of information: french-fried potatoes are out.

Discipline and strict diet keep me young.

I've been nine stone for 20 years, I always eat what I want, it's not an issue for me. But it pisses me off - because if people did decide that I starved myself, it would have a direct consequence on what we advocate!

Do not suppose, however, that I intend to urge a diet of classics on anybody. I have seen such diets at work. I have known people who have actually read all, or almost all, the guaranteed Hundred Best Books. God save us from reading nothing but the best.
