There are as many ways of loving as there are people, and that wildflower variety is the great beauty of this dimension of existence.

I love people. And I think if you take the 7 billion people on the planet and you round it off, about 7 billion of them are good. To find bad people is really difficult. Not people doing bad things, but really bad people who get up in the morning and say, How can I fuck people up? That’s a really rare thing. Misguided, you know, mistaken, but I just can’t understand how this view of humanity that all we want to do is horrible things to each other and it’s just this belief in something else that stops us. And that that is what you see over and over again through the Bible. There’s reward and punishment but there’s no – I mean, nothing feels better than helping someone out. I mean, there’s nothing better, nothing better in the world than someone whose life was fucked up and you do a little something and now their life isn’t. I mean, you can talk about the joy of sex, hedonistic joys of food, and you can talk about the joy with your children, but man, someone is going through a hard time and you help them out, man you feel good for months.

Helping other people and taking care as much as you can means that you are doing something good.

You can't really underestimate the power of that to make people feel less alone or to help in the healing process.

Happiness is available. Please help yourself to it.

If we take good care of ourselves, we help everyone. We stop being a source of suffering to the world, and we become a reservoir of joy and freshness. Here and there are people who know how to take good care of themselves, who live joyfully and happily. They are our strongest support. Whatever they do, they do for everyone.

I believe that every human mind feels pleasure in doing good to another.

Is it not the interest of the human race, that every one should be so taught and placed, that he would find his highest enjoyment to arise from the continued practice of doing all in his power to promote the well-being, and happiness, of every man, woman, and child, without regard to their class, sect, party, country or colour?

[On service] Giving feels good. It's a form of healing. Not just for you as an individual, but for everyone.

We have more than enough programs, organisations, parties, and strategies in the world for the alleviation of suffering and injustice.

To have a human form of a joyful thing. But in the universe of possible forms, there are others just as good.

I smile and start to count on my fingers: One, people are good. Two, every conflict can be removed. Three, every situation, no matter how complex it initially looks, is exceedingly simple. Four, every situation can be substantially improved; even the sky is not the limit. Five, every person can reach a full life. Six, there is always a win-win solution. Shall I continue to count?

Simply put, it feels good. It feels good knowing people are living better than they were before they shared a problem, and I even sometimes forget my experiences with these people. Most of these people send me messages and leave me texts after years thanking me for helping them with their education, healthcare, family, or just sharing a post they find eye-opening.

For any mental or physical pain or suffering, regardless of how severe it might be, can in great part be neutralized by the satisfaction and joy of trying to help others. And that's worth living for.
