An award means recognition. It means appreciation. It means noticeability, and that is what everyone wants - to know that you're recognized and appreciated for the work you put into something.

An award means a lot to me. It brings happiness along with a kind of fear. It brings fear because the award is the responsibility which audiences have put on us. So a singer winning an award should always try to give best of him to the audiences.

An award is a landmark for any writer, because it shows that it is a measure of a standard that you have improved in your writing.

Awards are good for everybody because it is an acknowledgment for a job well done. It is great that we have those platforms where we can appreciate each other’s works.

The award doesn’t mean nothing to me. My reward is getting new jobs, new projects—that’s my reward. Of course, that moment when you receive the award, you’ll be very happy. You could be very happy in the moment. But I’m a very practical person and a very realistic person. If I get a new job, that’s my reward.

This award is a slap in the face to mainstream music, which effortlessly graces every radio station while world music suffers from a lack of visibility. It's proof that there's still an audience that believes in our work. It gives me courage and the desire to believe in it after a long period of doubt and COVID. This award is also a wonderful gift for the musicians who carry me on stage and for Tartine Production, which supports me.

I wouldn’t tell you that X or Y awards were the best parts of my career; it’s actually the work that led me to those awards that are the best.

Well, I am that kind of person who just does her work and any awards that comes surprises me. I don't put my mind on awards or anything like that so when they come they do surprise me.

As random and as subjective as this award is, it means a great deal in a year of extraordinary, yet again, extraordinary performances by women ... And perhaps those of us in the industry who are still foolishly clinging to the idea that female films with women at the center are niche experiences. They are not. Audiences want to see them, and in fact, they earn money. The world is round, people.

Any kind of recognition for the work that you've done is a terrific thing. As a film actor, you don't often get that opportunity to meet with your audience and take your applause on stage. It's quite nice to meet people and hear them say, "I really enjoyed your work in this." I really enjoyed the Leprechaun films, and people who enjoy Leprechaun are quite obsessed.
