Here's a rule I recommend. Never practice two vices at once.

I had gotten up to two, maybe three, packs (of cigarettes) a day. And my lungs were bothering me and I'd had pneumonia two or three times. And I was also smoking pot, and I decided, well, one of them's got to go. And so I took a pack of Chesterfields and took all the Chesterfields out, rolled up 20 big fat ones and put it in there, and I haven't smoked a cigarette since then.

I remember well the time when no gentleman was supposed to smoke; the habit was fit only for the vulgarian.

I love my cigar too, but I take it out of my mouth once in a while.

The only time I really think is when I smoke, and I quit smoking years ago.

A cigarette only takes a certain amount of time to smoke and though this takes time it seems to take less and less with each one and you can only smoke so many, there comes a time when you have to stop, when you just cant light the next one . . . at least not for a while.

Never own more than you can carry in both hands at a dead run.

We don't piss in your ashtrays,
