I am told that when you ask any child what they want to become, they say, footballer, yahoo-yahoo person, kidnapper/bandits, comedian or LGA chairman: the easiest way out of illiteracy to make easy money in Nigeria.

It starts from the way you eat or sleep, the people you surround yourself with, the people that educate you, the people that sponsor you, the people that tell you that you can do it, versus Nigerians, the majority of whom just criticize.

I would change the way the average Nigerian woman thinks; how she sees her fellow woman as competition. I would make them know that wealth is not exclusive to men. We women are so powerful but we don’t even know how much power we have and possess.

I think it is reasonable to posit that it is often the people who have had too easy a time—who have been pampered and elevated falsely in their self-esteem—who adopt the role of victim and the mien of resentment.

The bad thing about us (Nigerians) is that, once we perceive any opportunity, business or profession as lucrative, everybody wants to go into it, whether or not they have the experience, training or the knowledge about it. I always tell them that if you don’t learn it properly, you can’t know it.’

It is a very difficult thing to take up modelling as a profession in Nigeria because of the influence of our parents. You won’t get your parents support especially when they want you to be something else like being a lawyer or doctor.

The important message is that people should not think that having a wealthy father makes one’s career easy. It is not easy for anybody. One has to be talented and hard-working. I know that one day people would start seeing that this is what I’m good at

People are just uptight because the kids are having fun. They didn’t have the same freedom because they didn’t take it; they just followed the lives laid down by their parents. And they’re jealous of the people who didn’t do that.

Who can you blame, parents or their friends or the children? In India every parent wants their child to earn more money and fame than any of their peers, no one wants their child to be set on a cultural journey and do tremendous things like other artists or musicians or sportsman have done. They think the entertainment sector won’t earn them any job or money. I blame the parents. They should inspire their children to pursue their interest along with the regular studies. I feel really sorry about this.

Your assumptions about the lives of others are in direct relation to your naïve pomposity. Many people you believe to be rich are not rich. Many people you think have it easy worked hard for what they got. Many people who seem to be gliding right along have suffered and are suffering. Many people who appear to you to be old and stupidly saddled down with kids and cars and houses were once every bit as hip and pompous as you.

She explained that many people, but especially women, feel fraudulent when they are praised for their accomplishments.

It is not easy running a business in Ghana. People will sabotage you and getting workers is tough. People are always crying on social media about unemployment. It is all a lie because they don't need any job, they are lazy. The youth are lazy because they think that once you are born, you start walking...it is a process but without any experience, they expect so much.

There are more prospects for survival in Nigeria than we think exist in Europe and other places. In the midst of so much wealth and resources we have in this country Nigerians should not become beggarly and only decide to fly out of Nigeria in search of the elusive greener pastures. Many Nigerians are traveling to the developed world to enjoy the development put in place by their governments, but we have refused to develop our own country.

We accepted her as an artist. And with her popularity, everybody, from school kids to grown ups, have watched her sites. People are paying money to watch her. How can there be tolerance for all this? What will the new generation learn?
