I believe that I am not simply on earth to exist. I want to leave a mark – in the lives of children, in my community, and also in the larger world

I wish that life should not be cheap, but sacred. I wish the days to be as centuries, loaded, fragrant.

The best way to celebrate is to give those who lack. 40 years of life has been phenomenal and I want to continue impacting society and humanity.

I want to make my own life a masterpiece.

Much of my experience of life has cost me a great price and I wish to use it for strengthening and comforting other souls.

This will be the greatest legacy that we can proudly leave behind for our next generation, let us sacrifice our today so that our children can have a better tomorrow.

I have wedded the cause of human improvement, staked on it my fortune, my reputation and my life.

I've made a lot of sacrifices.

I think I've made a lot of sacrifices. I work very, very hard. I've created thousands and thousands of jobs, tens of thousands of jobs, built great structures. I've done, I've had tremendous success. I think I've done a lot. ... I think they're sacrifices. I think when I can employ thousands and thousands of people, take care of their education, take care of so many things, even in military. I mean, I was very responsible, along with a group of people, for getting the Vietnam Memorial built in downtown Manhattan, which to this day people thank me for.

The world concerns me only in so far as I have a certain debt and duty to it, because I have lived in it for thirty years and owe to it to leave behind some souvenir in the shape of drawings and paintings – not done to please any particular movement, but within which a genuine human sentiment is expressed.

I am come to leave my bones among you.

To beautify life is to give it an object.
