By mind I mean the totality of perceptions, memories and ideas in an organism.

A mind is a psychic pattern through which you interpret and form reality. You have physical limbs that you can see. You have minds that are invisible. Each one can organize reality in a different fashion. Each one deals with its own kind of knowledge. These minds all work together to keep you alive through the physical structure of the brain. When you use all of these minds, then and only then do you become fully aware of your surroundings: You perceive reality more clearly than you do now, more sharply, brilliantly and concisely. At the same time, however, you comprehend it directly.

What is mind? A heap of thoughts.

mind The expression of the self that includes awareness, choice, thought, and emotion. Mind is non-physical, not to be confused with the brain. split-mind A mind divided among two parts; the “right mind” or home of God, and the “wrong mind” or home of the ego. The right mind espouses love, acceptance, and peace, while the wrong mind promulgates fear, sin, and guilt. In this divided state, the mind can become confused and short-circuits, cutting off our ability to create and communicate with others and God.

All there is, Consciousness. And the mind is merely a reflection of that Consciousness. Mind is a collection of thoughts which arise and are not disposed of, they are collected. Mind is merely a collection of thoughts, or a collection of impressions which makes up this "me," this self image. That image is made up of various thoughts and impressions not all the thoughts and impressions, but only selected thoughts and impressions. Therefore, the "me" as a self-image is an inaccurate image."

What is called mind is a wondrous power existing in Self. It projects all thoughts. If we set aside all thoughts and see, there will be no such thing as mind remaining separate; therefore, thought itself is the form of the mind. Other than thoughts, there is no such thing as the mind.

We shall envision the mind (or brain) as composed of many partially autonomous "agents"—as a "Society" of smaller minds. ...It is easiest to think about partial states that constrain only agents within a single Division. ...(we suggest) the local mechanisms for resolving conflicts could be the precursors of what we know later as reasoning — useful ways to combine different fragments of knowledge.

Your mind is a set of complex systems, like a supercomputer. Even though I do not believe this is a metaphor that can explain the full complexity of consciousness, it helps illustrate a point. Like how a computer can slow down when you have too many tasks, tabs, apps, or other programs running, so can your mind. When your attention is split, or your focus is fragmented, suffering increases in potentiality.

The mind is a metaphor of the world of objects which is itself but an endless circle of mutually reflecting metaphors.

Mind as a concrete thing is precisely the power to understand things in terms of the use made of them; a socialized mind is the power to understand them in terms of the use to which they are turned in joint or shared situations. And mind in this sense is the method of social control.

Minds are formed by our social interactions in a community and a culture.

The mind is a bundle of thoughts. The thoughts arise because there is the thinker. The thinker is the ego. The ego, if sought, will automatically vanish.
