To a certain degree we are really the person others have seen in us

Other people teach us who we are. Their attitudes to us are the mirror in which we learn to see ourselves, but the mirror is distorted!

It happens to all of us, time and time again. Because we’ve been deluded into thinking we’re really one person.

Through others, we become ourselves.

We deceive ourselves to be the same for our whole life, instead we are other every moment.

Other people teach us who we are. Their attitudes to us are the mirror in which we learn to see ourselves, but the mirror is distorted. We are, perhaps, rather dimly aware of the immense power of our social enviornment.

We all have different aspects of ourselves, and who we are to different people in our lives, at different stages of our lives.

The persona can eventually become ourselves, or an aspect of ourselves, to the point where we don't know which is the mask and which is the I.

To become different from what we are, we must have some awareness of what we are.

How did we change? Every one of us has become one thing or another, according to our own understanding. We believe ourselves to be men or women, rich people or poor people. We believe that we are teachers, soldiers, psychiatrists. We believe that we are young or old, fat or thin, happy or miserable... Americans or Indians, Russians or Arabs, Hindus or Christians, Muslims or Jews.

Many of us are impersonations of what we know we ought to be.

You think you're you, but you don't know who you are, you're not you... you're Everyone Else.

In each of us there is a little of all of us.

We become sphynxes, though fake, up to the point we no longer know who we are.
