The closer we can get to the natural world, the sooner we start to realize we are not separate. And that when we create, we are not just expressing our unique individuality, but our seamless connection to an infinite oneness.

Nearness to nature ... keeps the spirit sensitive to impressions not commonly felt and in touch with the unseen powers.

Any little thing that brings us back into communion with the natural world and the spiritual power that permeates all life will help us to move a little further along the path of human moral and spiritual evolution.

The more we are in harmony with nature the more human we become.

To him who in the love of Nature holds
Communion with her visible forms, she speaks

Nature utters her voice in lessons of heavenly wisdom and eternal truth.

The deeper our insight into the methods of nature . . . the more incredible the popular Christianity seems to us.

Human learning, with the blessing of God upon it, introduces us to divine wisdom; and while we study the works of nature the God of nature will manifest himself to us; since, to a well-tutored mind, “The heavens,” without a miracle, “declare his glory, and the firmament showeth his handy-work.”

Nature shows us its artistic beauty that sciences explain the hows and religions contemplate the whys.

They showed me their trees, and I could not understand the intense love with which they looked at them; it was as though they were talking with creatures like themselves. And perhaps I shall not be mistaken if I say that they conversed with them. Yes, they had found their language, and I am convinced that the trees understood them. They looked at all Nature like that — at the animals who lived in peace with them and did not attack them, but loved them, conquered by their love. They pointed to the stars and told me something about them which I could not understand, but I am convinced that they were somehow in touch with the stars, not only in thought, but by some living channel.

Nature and teaching are closely related; for teaching reforms a person, and by reforming remakes his nature.
