Facts do not convey truth. That's a mistake. Facts create norms, but truth creates illumination.

Belief creates the actual fact.

Truth enlightens man's intelligence and shapes his freedom.

Truth has noble effects. Truth is the seed of the new birth. God does not regenerate us by miracles or revelations, but by the word of truth (James 1:18). As truth is the breeder of grace, so it is the feeder of it (1Ti 4:6). Truth sanctifies: "Sanctify them through Thy truth" (John 17:17).

The truth itself is made.

The norms were created by somebody, and each of us is somebody. We can make our own normal.

Indeed, just as light makes manifest both itself and darkness, so truth is the standard both of itself and falsity.

Truth - more precisely, an accurate understanding of reality - is the essential foundation for producing good outcomes.

Beliefs create reality

What happens is fact, not truth. Truth is what we think about what happens.

Truth and clarity are complementary.

If our aim is the objective truth, we can have a motivation and a reason for revising our epistemic norms whenever we have reason to think they aren’t helping us optimally to reach that goal, and we can have a sounds basis for criticizing others’ claims that we should adhere to the norms. But how can we have any of these things if the truth just is whatever follows from our epistemic norms?

First, what does truth require? It requires us to face the facts as they are, not to involve ourselves in self-deception; to refuse to think merely in slogans. If we are to work for the future of the city, let us deal with the realities as they actually are, not as they might have been, and not as we wish they were.
