Most of us use our calendars all wrong: we don’t schedule work; we schedule interruptions. Meetings get scheduled. Phone calls get scheduled. Doctor appointments get scheduled. You know what often doesn’t get scheduled? Real work.

Say if I was in charge and someone said that buildin' needs knockin' down, it's dangerous, if we didn't have a calendar we'd go 'erm let's do it now then.' Whereas cos we've got a calendar it's easy to say...'next Wednesday'

It's just easier to put stuff off once we've got this calendar, whereas if we didnt have a date you'd have to do everythin' straight away

Getting something done is like digging a well. You can dig a well seventy feet deep, but if you don’t hit water it’s just an abandoned well.

We're going to get this done. It doesn't matter when. It doesn't matter whether it's in six minutes, six days, or six weeks.

How can you justify keeping a calendar & still keep most of your other commitments w/yourself in your head?

The reality is that you will never get much done unless you go ahead and do it before you are ready.

Creativity starts with an empty calendar and ends with a full one.

If you can’t hold your calendar in your head, you’re too busy.

(1) Jot down new tasks and assignments on your list during the day; (2) next morning, transfer these new items from your list onto your calendar; and (3) then take a couple of minutes to plan your day.

. . . another year has passed, or so they say, but calenders lie. They're a kind of cosmic business machine like their cousin clocks but break down at inappropriate times.

If you rely on finding time to do something, it will never be done. If you want to find time, you must make time.

Hurry up! Do it – get it done. You got work to do. Don’t put this off and don’t take the long view. Life is today and tomorrow, and if you are lucky, may be next week.

A busy calendar and a busy mind would destroy your ability to do great things in this world.

If you want to do great things, you need free time and you need a free mind.
