In a world of fools, I was, I think, to him one of the greater fools.

Because I was an idiot.

I've been deceived by the clown inside of me. I thought that he was righteous but he's vain.

I found myself doing this same thing — playing a role of having greater certainty and greater competence than I really possess. I can’t tell you how disgusted with myself I felt as I realized what I was doing: I was not being me, I was playing a part.

And if my present actions strike you as foolish, let's just say I've been accused of folly by a fool.

I feel used. I feel violated and duped over the fact that that turned into nothing more than a political rally.
