What's dead may never die.

When someone dies, the relationship doesn't die with them.

Our dead are never dead to us until we have forgotten them.

You can leave behind you a good reputation. But the only thing of momentous value we leave behind is the next generation, our kids — all our kids. We all need to work together to give them the gift of a good start in life.

What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.

What is that which can never die It is that faithful force that is born into us that one that is greater than us that calls new seed to the open and battered and barren places so that we can be resown. It is this force in its insistence in its loyalty to us in its love of us in its most often mysterious ways that is far greater far more majestic and far more ancient than any heretofore ever known.

As long as we can love eachother, and remember the feeling of love we had, we can die without ever really going away. All the love you created is still here. All the memories are still there. You live on — in the hearts of everyone you have touched and nurtured while you were hear… Death ends a life, not a relationship.

Your reputation will always precede you; integrity is key. Pray.

Our dead are never dead to us until we have forgotten them: they can be injured by us, they can be wounded; they
know all our penitence, all our aching sense that their place is empty, all the kisses we bestow on the smallest relic of their presence.

No one ever truly dies. The desires of our hearts make a path. We create legacy with our thoughts and dreams. This legacy either will give those who follow us joy on their road or will give them sorrow. (p149)

While most people whittle their days chasing another buck, or a little bit more fame and attention, or a little bit more assurance that they're right or loved, death confronts all of us with a far more painful and important question: What is your legacy? How will the world be different and better when you're gone? What mark will you have made? What influence will you have caused? They say that a butterfly flapping its wings in Africa can cause a hurricane in Florida; well, what hurricanes will you leave in your wake?

Your reputation is your most important asset. It precedes you before you walk into the room and lingers long after the work is done.

Heroes are remembered but legends never die.

Every one of us is going to die eventually, but we as a species will stick around for a while. That’s why I think accumulating money, fame or power is irrelevant. Serving humanity is the only thing that really matters in the long run.
