What darkness to you is light to me

You have to be a light to yourself in a world that is utterly becoming dark.

So you see that the eye of the intellect has received supernatural light, infused by grace, by which the doctors and saints knew light in darkness, and of darkness made light.

I am illuminated within by a diminishing light.

For the soul that is blind considers falsehood to be falsehood no longer, evil not to be evil, because it puts darkness for light, and light for darkness, and falls into endless disorders.

There's a very interesting statement that Paul made that the God of this world has blinded the minds of those who don't believe that there is an enemy who sets the thought forms of the world and Paul analyzes the intellectual darkness that comes about in Romans when people reject God they end up worshiping stones and inanimate things. They ascribe creatorial power to Nature because they don't believe in God and some of it is utterly absurd; and yet that is what happens and I would describe it as intellectual Darkness, but there's an enemy behind it.

Like a lamp, dispelling the darkness of ignorance

When the world was in darkness and wretchedness, it could believe in perfection and yearn for it. But when the world became bright with reason and riches, it began to sense the narrowness of the needle's eye and, and the rankled for a world no longer willing to believe or yearn.
