If it turns out that there is a God...the worst that you can say about him is that basically he's an underachiever.

I don't think it matters if there is a god or not. I've met people who believe in God that are good and that are bad. And I've met people who don't believe in God that are good and that are bad. So, just be good. I'm good. Not cos I think I'll go to heaven but because when I do something bad, I feel bad. And when I do something good, I feel good.

God is not good, or else he could do better.

Get out any anger! God is not a God of anger, but of gentleness. He does not accept gossip and ingratitude.

I think that if there were a God, there would be less evil on this earth. I believe that if evil exists here below, then either it was willed by God or it was beyond His powers to prevent it. Now I cannot bring myself to fear a God who is either spiteful or weak. I defy Him without fear and care not a fig for his thunderbolts.

If there is a God, atheism must strike Him as less of an insult than religion.

If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed. Results like these do not belong on the résumé of a Supreme Being. This is the kind of shit you'd expect from an office temp with a bad attitude. And just between you and me, in any decently-run universe, this guy would've been out on his all-powerful ass a long time ago. I believe more and more that God must not be judged harshly on this earth. It is one of His sketches that has turned out badly.

A God minus wrath seems to be a God who is basically not against anything.
