If you’re struggling to find motivation to learn, or to accomplish anything else in your life, there is a good chance you haven’t uncovered the why of the task.

It is not easy to remain motivated in the face of widespread apathy and self-indulgence.

We can't know what to expect and also be surprised. We can't be free from frustration and also be challenged. We can't go unchallenged and also feel satisfied with our accomplishments. Mystery, surprise, tension, challenge, and a real sense of accomplishment always come at the cost of feeling uncomfortable. Given the opportunity, many of us would rather take the easier road, but that's usually the less rewarding one.

We hold ourselves back in ways both big and small, by lacking self-confidence, by not raising our hands, and by pulling back when we should be leaning in.

It is your belief that you are being held back that holds you back.

I really do believe that if you don't challenge yourself and risk failing, that it's not interesting.

A lot challenges me! Not psyching myself out, not doubting myself, not comparing myself to others... all of that challenges me. But inevitably, challenges are put into our lives so that we may grow and become the best version of who we are meant to be.

I’ve been putting one foot in front of the other. I have just been staying hungry like I haven’t achieved anything. I love to push myself and also love challenges. I don’t want to be bored. I want to keep encouraging my children and other people who look up to me

It's about not accepting every little challange thrown at you. Sometimes you hold back and when it's needed you go for it.

Nothing can motivate me any more than I'm already motivated. It just can't happen. Me being motivated was never a factor. Never.

Most of the time it’s not lack of experience that’s holding us back, but rather the lack of determination to do what we need to do to be successful.

Motivation helps, but if you are not disciplined, if you are not focused and have no goal, it is very difficult to keep going.

Motivation comes and goes. If you want to do something consistently, then don't pick a level of difficulty that requires great motivation.

Make it easy enough and simple enough that you'll do it even when you don't feel very motivated.

Stay motivated. It gets old. It gets predictable. It becomes cliché. But in the end, it's good advice. And sometimes, you don't need platitudes or well-wishes or rousing speeches or photo ops, you just need to remember to take the step right in front of you and keep pushing forward, come what may. Honors and rewards are great, but it can't sustain you- you have to keep plugging away on the awful days as well as the great ones. You have to keep trying. You have to keep hanging on, even when there doesn't seem to be any reason to stick to it. You have to find that reason within yourself. You have to stay motivated.
