He who does not have proper knowledge of Aqeedah cannot be an Alem (Islamic scholar).

nothing that is worth knowing can be taught

Man can learn nothing unless he proceeds from the known to the unknown.

We have been hearing our elders, our imams and malams preaching the gospel of truth, saying that it is not the religion of Islam that discourages participation of women in the pursuit of knowledge, because it is categorically stated that acquisition of knowledge is mandatory to every male and female child, so it is not religious, it is not, it is not Islam. If your religion has given you power, opportunity, and the go-ahead to seek knowledge where ever you can get it, then what is limiting you? The only problem is attitudinal and that we have to address and change.

Every other knowledge is harmful to him who does not have knowledge of goodness.

O youth.......be assured that knowledge alone does not strengthen the hand......Though a man read a hundred thousand scientific questions and understood them or learned them, but did not work with them — -They do not benefit him except by working.....Knowledge is the tree, and working is its fruit; and though you studied a hundred years and assembled a thousand books, you would not be prepared for the mercy of Allah the Exalted except by working.

For its own well-being, the intellect should be doing what you condemn; that is, it should avoid busying itself with particular knowledge, for it cannot reach God through this knowledge, which would rather hinder it in its advance toward him.

Knowledge is of no value unless you put it into practice.

He had looked at Qala then and said, “And I hope we never find out. That would make someone right and someone wrong.”
“Isn’t knowledge worth that?” Qala had asked.
“Questions are always more valuable than answers,” Nimma had replied. “I suppose if answers encourage new questions, they are valid. But this one? I do not think any of the major participants would receive the truth kindly, or willingly.”

It [enlightenment] has not come to you by means of teaching! And-thus is my thought, oh exalted one,-nobody will obtain salvation by means of teachings! (character of Siddhartha, speaking to the Buddha)

Knowledge has no value except that which can be gained from its application towards some worthy end.

He said : Not to know the decree is to be
without the means of being a proper man.
2. Not to know the rites is to be without means to
construct.
3. Not to know words is to
be without the fluid needful to understand men.

The Master said, “Learning without thought is labor lost; thought without learning is perilous.” The Master said, “The study of strange doctrines is injurious indeed!” The Master said, “Yu, shall I teach you what knowledge is? When you know a thing, to hold that you know it; and when you do not know a thing, to allow that you do not know it;-this is knowledge.
