The whole point of being alive is to become the person you were intended to be, to grow out of and into yourself again and again

To be a person, a being must be self-conscious, aware of its identity and its continued existence over time.

Do you want to be what you are or do you want to be what continually changes what you are?

Consciousness is only possible through change; change is only possible through movement.

The goal of becoming a conscious person is not to outwit death, nor even to become immune to disease. The goal is to be able to handle any and all changes in our lives — and in our bodies — without fear, looking only to absorb the message of truth contained in the change.

Because this business of becoming conscious, of being a writer, is ultimately about asking yourself, How alive am I willing to be?
