If you want to get to know a character, learn about their interests, goals or desires, their butt is probably not going to give you that information.

The isn't only a sunny place for shady people.

Either a municipal bog is a private place or it isn't. If it is a private place in which to shit, how is it not a private place in which to fellate?

If it's all about arse, why don't gays like a little bit of tit?

I don't go to mythical places with strange men.

They say love's like a bus, and if you wait long enough another one will come along, but not in this place where the buses are slow and most of the cute ones are gay.

There’s not a lesbian hero that everybody can relate to.

Gay is not normal, accept that.

It is much harder than you might think to show people your bottom.

This place was not divine. It was enchanted, which was a different thing altogether.

What's next? Orgy rooms? Menage a trois rooms? All this coedness is outside normal life. Most average American adults don't use coed bathrooms — if they had the option of a coed bathroom at a public restaurant, they wouldn't choose it.

Butt sex is a lot like spinach. If you're forced to have it as a child, you won't enjoy it as an adult.

Identity is a very strange concept. It can mean two opposite things. It can mean that which makes you unique and it can mean that which makes you identical.

There are all these different experiences people have. There is an African American experience, there is a women’s experience, there is a gay experience… You don’t want to pretend that it does not exist and you don’t want to make it all-important. It is very hard for us to find the right way to talk about this.

As a gay person I don’t want to be in the closet, but I also don’t want to be in the ghetto. The closet and the ghetto are exclusive – those are two different possibilities – but I hope they are not exhaustive, that those are not the only two.
